WCC – World Craft Council

It was founded in 1964 and is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organisation recognised by UNESCO. Its main objective is to strengthen the position of crafts as a vital part of cultural and economic life, to support a sense of community among producers worldwide and to offer them encouragement, help and advice. The World Craft Council consists of five regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America.

ECO – European Craft Organization

It was founded in 1972 as the European Folkart and Craft Federation. Its mission and activity followed on from cooperation between European countries with a strong folk art production which had begun before the Second World War. In 2021, members agreed on changing its name to the European Craft Organization (ECO). Its members are only non-profit organisations which aim to safeguard and support traditional and contemporary crafts.

ICOM – International Council of Museums

ICOM is the only international organisation which represents the interests of museums and museum professionals. Since 1946, it has been helping its members fulfil their mission in safeguarding, protecting and spreading cultural heritage. Today, it has over 30,000 members in 137 countries across the world.

OIDFA – The International Bobbin and Needle Lace Organisation

OIDFA was founded in 1982 and at presents brings together master lace-makers from over 35 countries. The organisation’s activities have an international dimension and aim to support, maintain and continue to develop the traditional production of lace.
