The manufacturer has been active in production since 2005. After finishing school, he set up his own workshop as a “dream space” for his creations. At that time, he worked in many civic associations dealing with old carpentry constructions and stone work. He deliberately started seeking out older people in various regions of Slovakia (northern Spiš, upper Nitra, eastern Slovakia) in order to gain valuable information about traditional crafts. Subsequently, he began to engage in weaving with natural fibers, more precisely with the technique of making root and willow baskets. He is particularly interested in these techniques in terms of their application in contemporary design. Alongside basketry techniques, he also spent a long time developing work with leather in the form of traditional shepherd’s vessels. In addition to classic carving with chisels and hollowing out, he also works with wet wood turning, bending, cutting with a chainsaw, and so on. In his work, he uses both traditional old tools – chisels, axes, two-handed knives, as well as modern machines and industrial technologies. Currently, he mainly focuses on thin-walled objects with a thickness of two to seven millimeters. An often characteristic feature of his products are natural imperfections in the material, which he uses to enhance the artistic aspect of the object. He prefers simple shapes and visual purity. In his range, you will find various-shaped and various-wood utility vessels, vases for dried flowers, combs, jewelry, and traditional ladles. He also dedicates himself to producing wooden turned lampshades. Typical for these lampshades is that he processes the wood into very thin thicknesses. His products are characterized by precise craftsmanship and perfect surface finish. Considering the wood types used and the form of the products, they can be considered as original standalone pieces designed for a contemporary modern interior.
